The Best Ford Technology Announced in 2016 So Far | Bentonville, AR

  • FordPass. Ford announced a huge new feature this year called FordPass. FordPass will transform the relationship between Ford and its consumers. The platform, which will launch this spring, will include four elements:

    • Marketplace. Marketplace will provide members with mobility services like helping people find and pay for parking and share vehicles.

    • FordGuides. FordPass members will have access to these knowledgeable guides at the touch of a button who can answer questions and help lead them through mobility processes.

    • Appreciation. Members will get rewards for actions like registering to become a member, booking parking or interacting with FordGuides.

    • FordHubs. Ford will create urban storefronts where consumers will be able to explore Ford’s latest technology and innovations.

  • The World’s First Wheelchair-Accessible SUV. Ford joined forces with BraunAbility to create the BraunAbility MXV, a wheelchair-accessible SUV based on the new 2016 Ford Explorer.   


  • SYNC Connect. Set to make its debut this spring in the new 2017 Ford Escape, SYNC Connect technology will allow drivers to remotely

    • lock and unlock their vehicle

    • start their vehicle, including scheduling a future start

    • check vehicle status, including fuel, oil and battery levels as well as tire pressure readings

    • check vehicle location so you can see where your car is parked on a map

  • Wearable Research. Researchers at the new Automotive Wearables Experience lab in the Ford Research and Innovation Center in Dearborn, Michigan have been exploring ways to connect wearable technology with your vehicle. This would mean, for example, your vehicle’s lane-keeping assist feature could become more sensitive if your smartwatch tells your vehicle you didn’t get enough sleep the night before your drive.
